I wrote about my upcoming trip to Singapore the other day, and I'm happy to say the day has finally come. My wife and I landed in the Singapore Changi airport on Wednesday at 12:30 AM local time, and we walked by a barista named Ella who could make us a cup of coffee if need be.
But why was this barista working at 12:30 a.m.? Because "Ella" is a robot, and an impressive one at that. She can prepare 200 cups of coffee in an hour, write customers names on cups, and even greet them with a friendly wave. Innovation and automation are everywhere, and the future of coffee is at the Changi Airport.
