Today on my podcast, we're sitting down with podcast expert Chris Krimitsos. Chris holds the Guinness World Records™ title for the largest attendance for a virtual podcasting conference in one week and is a leading expert on podcasting and on-demand audio. His international conference, PodFest, is the longest-running continuous in-person podcasting event globally and attracts thousands of attendees from over 50 countries each year. Podfest is a fantastic community of content creators and a trade show where businesses can connect.
With two decades and over 2,000 live events under his belt, Chris has worked with the world's most influential voices in marketing, audio, and technology. Those experiences inspired his best-selling book, Start Ugly, which quickly became the go-to guide for entrepreneurs and influencers who are beginning their creative journey.
Chris explained that on-demand podcasting is searchable audio that you can find through the internet; it's not just two people doing an interview. “Podcasters have a message that they feel compelled to share with the world.”
What is Chris’ advice for podcasters? First, have suitable keywords and keep it simple. Keywords are how people find you, so make sure they relate to your industry. Also, get yourself a team; it makes it so much easier. As a rule of thumb, once a week is good for releasing podcasts, but make sure you are consistent and find a format that works for you. That’s “the key to building momentum and making money.”
