You might’ve had a friend or two who made relationships feel transactional—only offering support when they expect something in return. But true friendship isn’t about keeping score; it should be built on genuine care.
So ask yourself—is this a true friendship? Are you second-guessing their intentions? Are they there for your highest highs and lowest lows? How do you feel after spending time with them? Do you feel valued or drained?
Don’t get me wrong, nobody is perfect, and you should never expect someone to give you their undivided attention at all times, but a genuine friendship is built on respect and understanding.
