In our business, we often hear from stressed-out entrepreneurs. They could be in the middle of a complicated transaction or facing a cash flow crunch that is causing high stress.
What is the best way to respond to a stressful situation? The answer is counterintuitive. When stressed, we are inclined to work harder or run faster. But more often or not, we're running in the wrong direction. It's more important to slow down, take a breath, and get your bearings.
I saw a quote on this same topic last week. Rabbi David Wolpe said, "Experts say the biggest mistake amateur explorers make when lost is to move faster in the wrong direction. So when you feel lost in life, stop, take stock, move forward when you are better oriented in a confusing world."
