I spent a few days last week in Omaha, Nebraska (yes, it was HOT), working with several peer groups. As we moved to the "Hot Seat" part of our workshops, it became clear that several members were struggling with a significant issue in their business.
Building a business is like raising a child, and for those of us who are parents, we know well that there will be steps along the parenting journey where we have no idea what to do and are flustered and frightened. Unfortunately, when we hit these points in parenting, we're often not afraid to seek advice from family, friends, and experts on the best path forward.
We should face business challenges with the same open-mindedness. But, you do not have to do this alone. Join a peer group. And to top off the peer experience, don't be shy to seek out experts on specific issues you are confronting and get their advice and counsel. Put together a variety of perspectives, and determine your best path forward.
