AmiSight 10/6: My Son Asked About My Bucket List
Not long ago, my son, Sam, asked which places were on my travel bucket list.
I couldn't answer him. Nothing came to mind.
I've spent years building security and options for my family. Yet when Sam asked what I wanted to experience outside the business, I drew a blank.
For most of my career, motion has been my normal state. There's always another call, another hire, another entrepreneur I can help. Being busy feels productive. Being needed feels good.
But the company's goals can get so big that you stop noticing whether you still have any goals that belong only to you.
As I get older, the question is changing. It's less about how much I need and more about what I want the money, and the time, to be for.
I'm still working on my answer to Sam.
