With the government finally open again, there’s good news for SBA borrowers who have been frozen for weeks. The gears are turning, and progress can resume.
But let’s be realistic — it won’t be business as usual overnight. There’s roughly a 45-day backlog of loans and applications to work through. While some SBA systems are automated, much of the process still depends on people — and that means delays, bottlenecks, and occasional inconsistencies.
In my view, it will take a few weeks before everything truly returns to normal. There will be hits and misses along the way that may not seem logical.
For now, patience will be key. The good news is that the system is back in motion — it’s just going to take a little time to find its rhythm again.
