Most people tend to open texts from unknown numbers much more than emails from an unknown address. And businesses are noticing.

According to research firm eMarketer, brands sent 31% more texts in 2024 compared with the previous year. The Wall Street Journal reports that by some estimates, people open 98% of text messages, compared with just 37% of emails.
