AmiSight 3/4: Fighting the Battle with Sleeplessness

Ahh, sleeplessness. Something nearly every entrepreneur has experienced at some point in their journey. You are exhausted, falling asleep in your chair, and finally hit the sack. And then you’re wide awake, rehashing everything from the past day—or lifetime. 


Sammy Margo, sleep expert at Dreams, shared with Stylist what not to do when you can’t get to sleep:

  • Don’t stay in bed. You’ll waste more time tossing and turning. Instead, do some relaxing activities such as reading or stretching for about 20 minutes.

  • Don’t reach for your phone. As tempting as it may be, this will only stimulate your mind more and throw off your sense of time. Opt for something less stimulating, like a book or crossword puzzle.

  • Don’t try to tire yourself out. Exercising before bed in an attempt to make you sleepy will only stimulate your system. Instead, try breathing or mindfulness exercises to calm down.
