While it is yet unknown how the Trump tariffs will affect some products, it is widely believed that the price of Apple’s China-made iPhones will eventually have to be hiked up to absorb costs. Considering some Americans are cutting back on fast food, there is certainly concern whether or not they will be willing to shell out more than $1,000 for a phone.
LinkedIn gathered some perspectives on the topic.
Marketing and music industry entrepreneur Clayton Durant points to a Wall Street Journal article that gauged the public’s concern about pricier phones. He wonders if Apple will turn its focus on its more tariff-proof subscription products like Apple Music.
Mark Gurman, Managing Editor of Global Consumer Tech & Chief Correspondent on Apple at Bloomberg News and TV, addresses not only the tariffs, but other issues Apple needs to deal with such as supply chain challenges, AI struggles and potential turmoil in its services business.
