Graduation season is in full swing, ushering in a new wave of workers entering a variety of fields. According to LinkedIn’s annual Grad’s Guide, which highlights the fastest-growing jobs, industries, and cities for recent grads, those with a bachelor’s degree are gravitating toward tech and business roles.
LinkedIn users offer advice to the new grads entering today’s job market:
Communications leader Amanda Coffee advises not to worry too much about finding the perfect job right away, especially as the rapid pace of innovation is creating new opportunities all the time. Stay curious and adaptable, she says, and the perfect job just may come along.
Adam Bryant, senior managing director at The ExCo Group, shares two pieces of advice he gives to new grads each year: First, do your homework. Take the time to research the company, learn about its culture, and find out who the recruiters are. Second, once you land the job, treat the job description as the floor, not the ceiling.
