There was a time when the internet felt like a place to discover something unexpected.

Today, much of it feels like an endless stream of AI-generated content, recycled opinions, and people saying the same thing in slightly different ways.

A recent article in Inc. argues that as AI-generated "slop" floods the internet, more people are intentionally spending less time scrolling and more time in their local communities. It isn't because the internet has become less useful. It's because it has become less interesting.

As AI makes it easier to produce content at scale, something else becomes much harder to manufacture: genuine human experience.

Ironically, I think AI will make real conversations, real communities, and real relationships even more valuable than they already are.

The future may belong to AI, but trust will still belong to humans. If you're interested in the original piece, it's worth the four-minute read: An Explosion of AI Slop Is Pushing People Offline and Back Into the Real World
