When you start a loan application, disclose everything—warts and all. Don’t try to hide the messy parts of your story, the tax issue from two years ago, or the partner dispute you hope no one asks about.
Invariably, the lender will find it, and when they do, you’ll lose far more than your shot at that loan—you’ll lose your credibility.
Lenders can work with imperfect situations; what they can’t work with is feeling misled. Full transparency from the start gives you the best chance to build trust and get to “yes.”
