AmiSight 1/4: Trying To Get Through My Biggest Weakness

My most irrational behavior since I can remember, is that I hate to exercise. I know how dumb and terrible it is, but I have never managed to last in any exercise routine for a couple of weeks. So I come up with every horrible excuse from here to Sunday.

A couple of weeks ago, I decided it was time to try again. I have a simple goal for myself. To get my lazy *** up and do some cardiovascular exercise every other day. I started with twenty minutes and thought I was about dead when I was done. Yesterday, I made it to 28 minutes. My body is fighting through the changes. I am not on the other side yet.

My goal is to keep this routine up for 90 days. I am not trying to get cute and add other routines (or excuses) to the mix.

I plan to report back when I hit my 25 workout mark. Let's hope I can do it!

DO IT AMI! Without our health, we don't have anything. Don't even think about weight or how you look or anything at first. It is all about moving and increasing circulation / blood flow incrementally every week. Good for you!

It was tough at first but once you get into the groove it's easier to stick with it. I lost 45 pounds in 52 weeks and figure I'll go 5 more pounds to get back to my wedding weight back in the Bronze Age. The key for me was to not beat yourself up and instead give yourself some grace if you don't feel like doing the full workout - tell yourself you're just going t…

Appreciation for it is important! It can be difficult to find the way to that. For me, feeling the blood pumping feels really good. It feels alive. It can be meditative. It is a way the mind can rest, because you're just working out.... etc!
