I stumbled upon an old quote from Ernest Hemingway in my Facebook
memory feed last week that I wanted to share. He said: "Before you act, listen.
Before you react, think. Before you spend, earn. Before you criticize, wait.
Before you pray, forgive. Before you quit, try."
There is something in there for every one of us.
There is some discussion about this being a Hemingway quote, either way we think it's a good one. Shared credit to William Arthur Ward who wrote a poem called "Before You".
In these few simple lines Hemmingway I believe has captured the essence of what is required to be successful as a human being in this life. The challenge is to live your life in this way everyday. Thank you for sharing these powerful words and I hope they resonate with others the way they have with me this morning.
