AmiSight 2/22: Imagine Finding Your Purpose While Running a Restaurant Through the Pandemic?
This week on AmiSights, the podcast, I sat down with chef and business owner Tim McDiarmid. After working in the restaurant business in NYC for nearly 20 years, Tim moved to San Antonio, TX. That is where she started her catering business, Tim the Girl Catering. In 2015, she had the opportunity to open her very own restaurant, called The Good Kind. The concept specializes in healthy grab-n-go breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snack items, plus large and small scale catering. The Good Kind builds on Tim the Girl Catering's vision to provide the San Antonio community with clean, nourishing, sustainable, and delicious food.
The Good Kind restaurant eventually moved into a bigger space to use an event venue called Ivy Hall Events. It’s a beautiful garden space that allows them to host weddings, birthdays, corporate events, and more. The three businesses work together, allowing them to provide delicious food on property, as well as for off-site events.
Listen here for a very candid conversation about what it was like to be in an industry that was decimated by the pandemic and how to find your purpose through it all:
