I received a predictable call from an entrepreneur friend of mine last week who has recently sold his business. Part of the deal is that he sticks around and works for the "man or woman" for a couple of years.
He called me about a month in to ask how he could start acquiring businesses on his account. I am not sure if he will listen, but my advice was to stare at a wall or take a nap and call me in a year.
Time and time again, I have seen entrepreneurs jump into their next thing too quickly. Invariably, it's a mistake. It would help if you had time to put your past and future in perspective before deciding what is next. Take the time. You have earned it.
