As I flipped through my Facebook memory feed earlier this week, I came across a short post from Rabbi Wolpe that I wanted to share.
When I was a boy, my father told me a story of a father and son who were walking and came across a large rock. The boy said to his father, "Do you think I can move the rock?" "Yes," answered the father, "if you use all your strength." The boy pushed and pushed, but the rock did not move. He returned to his father, forlorn. "You were wrong; I couldn't move it." "You didn't use all your strength," said his father. "But I did !” said the boy. “No !" said his father, "You didn't ask me to help."
Powerful. Thanks for the reminder.
