"The moment you blame someone else for your failure is the moment you lose control of your future." - Kevin O'Leary
This quote reminded me of a recent AmiSight I wrote on how our reactions shape our lives. When things go wrong, what is your initial reaction? Is your first thought to blame someone else? Blaming others is easy as it gives a sense of relief in putting that responsibility on someone else. Instead of blaming in the heat of the moment, zoom out of the situation and open your mind.
Ask yourself, “What is the next best step?” View these challenges as an opportunity to improve, rather than making up excuses. Learning from these mistakes can help you be vulnerable to constructive criticism. Is there really any benefit to shifting blame onto someone else?
