Jack and Lucy consider themselves entrepreneurs but choose two different paths.
In Jack's mind, being an entrepreneur means you stay in control of your business. He has spent years bootstrapping and grinding his business, passing on equity investors. He wants to make decisions independently and not have to answer to other people. Over time he has built a stable, profitable business that he is proud to call his own.
Lucy wants to build a Unicorn. Before she opened her doors, she raised an angel round. Over the last three years, she has raised three rounds of capital. At this point, her business is substantially bigger and more valuable than Jack's, but she now only owns 15% of it.
So who do you think is the entrepreneur? Jack or Lucy or both.
What's the answer, @Ami Kassar?
Both. To me, an entrepreneur is someone who doesn’t work for someone else and carves their own path in life. This can look differently for every entrepreneur, although I’d love to learn how Lucy does it. :)
Both. When you start a business, you have the right to do with it what you choose. Go Lucy and Jack!
Lucy. All day long as with her Capital and partners she may continue to get diluted but her valuation will soar! Lucy is a bit smarter than Jack. By miles.
