We have all heard the saying: “The client is always right.” But I’m sure it has gotten to a point where the client is wrong.
When building a business, it is tempting to say yes to every opportunity that comes your way. Revenue is revenue. But what about the hidden costs? The sleepless nights, endless emails, and moments of second-guessing your worth. Money can be replaced—your mental health cannot.
Before saying yes, look for red flags. Are they respectful? Do they have unrealistic demands? Do they cause constant stress for you or your employers?
Walking away does not mean you are unprofessional—In fact, it means you value yourself, your work, your team, and your sanity. Saying “no” creates space for better-aligned clients to come in.
You’ve built your business, and look how far you’ve come—that is no small accomplishment. So the next time you find yourself with a negative client, remember: every moment spent on them is time taken away from a client who respected your time and valued your expertise.
In honor of Labor Day, we will be taking the day off and return on Tuesday. Labor Day is more than the unofficial end to summer- it is a time to recognize the hard work, dedication, and resilience of America's workforce. Enjoy a safe and restful holiday!
