John Ratliff, the founder of the align5 Companies, shares a practice he calls the "Painted Picture." He starts each new year with a blank canvas and paints it with scenarios that would result in his perfect year—no limits, no doubts – just your dreams are coming true.
This blueprint includes more than lofty goals. Instead, it spells them out in great detail and how they will be accomplished. So detailed, John usually writes 10-15 pages describing all areas of the business, from sales and marketing to new products and hires.
